Amsterdam mayor marries U.S. gay couples

The mayor of Amsterdam married five American-Dutch gay couples on Saturday in an implicit criticism of the lack of same-sex marriage and immigration rights in the U.S.

The problem is that Americans can't be shamed into doing the right thing. They won't do it until they're forced to.

  1. Love Exiles were represented on the Mayors boat, during Gay Pride, by Martha McDevitt-Pugh. Both she and Boris Dittrich, from Human Rights Watch, said later how moving the five ceremonies were and at the same time how disturbing it is that these couples have full rights in the Netherlands and so few in the US. We need UAFA to pass. Human Rights Watch is dedicated to UAFA being part of comprehensive immigration reform.
